Prince William Academy (PWA) is an independent, accredited private school in Woodbridge, VA, offering a seamless educational journey from infancy through middle school. Founded in 1986, we pair strong academics with character, leadership, and global citizenship in a warm, family-centered community. Extended hours (7:00 am–6:00 pm) and before/after-school care support today’s busy families. Our Early Childhood division begins with an Infant Program (6 weeks–16 months) and Toddler Program (16 months–2 years), followed by a Preschool Program for ages 2–5 that nurtures curiosity, foundational literacy/numeracy, and social-emotional growth. Elementary and middle grades are structured in three thoughtfully designed stages—Primary (K–2), Lower School (Grades 3–6), and Upper School (Grades 7–9). In Upper School, students follow a six-day rotation blending core academics (math, English, history, science, world languages) with arts, wellness/PE, and electives; they work closely with a faculty advisor and can explore robotics, drama, outdoor exploration, design, and more. It’s rigorous, supportive, and intentionally prepares students for high school success. Small classes and personalized learning are central to the PWA experience. With an approximate 1:16 teacher-student ratio in K–8, every child is known, challenged, and supported. Families appreciate our ongoing communication, including frequent updates and conferences that keep home and school closely connected. PWA is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and Cognia. Our infant/toddler and preschool programs are accredited by NAEYC and licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Seasonal camps meet American Camp Association standards. As an SEVP-approved school, we can issue I-20s for international students—reflecting our commitment to a diverse, global community. World-language learning starts early and grows with the child; offerings include Arabic, Mandarin, and Spanish. Our orchestra program and international music exchange provide distinctive cultural experiences alongside robust arts, athletics, leadership, and service opportunities. Facilities include a full gymnasium, outdoor play spaces, library, science labs, art studio, and music room—inviting students to discover passions both inside and beyond the classroom.
